KEEPING JAZZ ALIVE...

I tell you I had a wonderful time volunteering at the WCLK radio station on Thursday.  It really surprised me to find out that there are only 9 Jazz stations still operating throughout America!!!! the rest of them have been forced to close down, and another amazing fact that I learned was that WCLK has been going strong for 40 years.  What an accomplishment ladies and gentlemen. (the children of Israel wandered around in the wilderness for 40 years):-)

So after hearing this new's I was compelled to go be a part of making history helping keep JAZZ ALIVE!  Everyone in the studio was very cordial and after meeting Jamal Ahmid, Mark Angel, Juanita and Joi it made for all the more reason to be a happy camper getting in the trenches sort to speak.  I had a wonderful time chatting with pledger's as they expressed their willingness to be a part of such an important cause.  Some were renewing their memberships and others were new comer's as myself.:-)  I also met the lovely jazz vocalist Julie Dexter which was such a delight for me of course one vocalist to another, so what did I have to do? (Yes you guessed it right! take a picture!)  As quite as it's kept she now has a new fan in me, who know's maybe one day we'll have the chance to collaborate together.

Your chance to make your pledge is all year round however, WCLK will be running this campaign until Sunday March 30th, 2014.  Become part of the solution by going to www.wclk.com any dollar amount to help keep JAZZ alive, you'll be glad you did.  Hugs
