From the Stage to the Bookshelf: A Season of Gratitude and Growth
By Habaka KFJ – The Panther of Cremona, Italy
Honey Bees,
As I reflect on the past few weeks, I am filled with gratitude for the many ways music, storytelling, and community continue to intersect in my life.
On May 30th, I had the honor of serving as MC for another successful Ma’am Jam presented by the Las Vegas Blues Society and produced by Carrie Stowers; an organization I have proudly hosted for the past six years. The evening was completely SOLD OUT, and the energy in the room was incredible.

Seeing people come together to celebrate live music and support the Blues reminds me why this work matters. The success of the event was a testament to the strength of our music community and the dedication of everyone involved.
The celebration continues on June 21st with another Black Box Sessions - “Freedom In Blues” performance, honoring Juneteenth, Black Music Month, and Father’s Day. This special event promises to be a powerful celebration of culture, history, family, and the enduring influence of Black music on the world.

For me, these moments represent more than performances. They are opportunities to preserve stories, build connections, and celebrate the traditions that continue to inspire future generations.
That spirit of storytelling has also been reflected in my journey as an author

I am thrilled to share that my books, Voices of Care and Lanterns in the Dark, are now available through Barnes & Noble, and can also be found at Mad Red Books, an independent bookstore right here in Las Vegas.

Seeing my books on bookstore shelves is both humbling and inspiring. These books were born from personal experiences of caregiving, faith, resilience, healing, and hope. To know they are finding their way into the hands of readers is a blessing I deeply appreciate.
The literary journey continues on June 20th when I will appear for a book signing at Copper Cat Books. I look forward to meeting readers, signing books, and sharing the stories behind these deeply personal works.

When I look at everything happening this season—from sold-out music events to bookstore placements and upcoming signings—I am reminded that success is often built one faithful step at a time.
Whether through music, radio, writing, or community service, my goal remains the same: to connect, encourage, and inspire.
Thank you to everyone who has attended a show, listened to a broadcast, read a book, shared a post, or simply offered a word of encouragement. Your support means more than you know.
As I often say, life is filled with miracles—sometimes loud and obvious, and sometimes quiet and unexpected. This season has been a beautiful reminder of both.
Until next time, stay real sweet, and keep sharing your light. Hugs
