Do you believe in coincidences?

Well, I personally don’t. Even though we often use that word in conversation, I truly believe that everything happens for a reason.

That’s exactly why I wanted to share this special moment with you.

This morning, Michael J. Calhoun of the legendary Dazz Band sent me the screenshot you see here — and at first glance, it might seem like nothing more than a fun coincidence. But when I looked closer, I couldn’t help but smile.

Right there, underneath the caption celebrating George Benson’s tribute to B.B. King’s 100th birthday, was our new single “Bossa Nova Tonite.”

Now, anyone who knows me knows that my father, Melvin Jackson, played with B.B. King for more than 25 years. So seeing my name and our song right beneath that tribute felt like a divine wink — a reminder that my father is smiling down on me as I continue carrying our family’s musical legacy forward.
