Music has a way of transporting us. Sometimes, all it takes is one song to carry us somewhere warm, romantic, and alive with rhythm. With my new single Bossa Nova Tonite, I wanted to create exactly that kind of moment—a musical escape that feels like a gentle breeze and a dance under the stars.

This song is more than just a melody for me. It’s a journey. Coming from the world of Blues, Jazz, and Gospel, I’ve always been drawn to music that speaks straight to the heart. Bossa Nova, with its soft swing and timeless elegance, has that magic. It whispers romance, it moves with grace, and it gives you permission to simply be in the moment.

When I first began working on Bossa Nova Tonite, the vision was clear: an original composition that celebrates connection, rhythm, and the joy of being alive. I had the incredible privilege of collaborating with Michael J. Calhoun and Pete Tokar, (Bell Telephunk Records / Ebony Sweat Productions/Lamont Patterson-World Movement Records LLC), and together we brought the song to life. Every note, every rhythm was carefully chosen to capture the atmosphere of an unforgettable evening.

The creative process was both intimate and exhilarating. There were studio sessions, moments of laughter, and times where we sat in silence, just letting the music breathe. The final track reflects that journey—this original composition penned by Michael J Calhoun is smooth, soulful, and wrapped in the kind of warmth that only live music can bring.

What excites me most is how listeners are connecting with it already. Bossa Nova Tonite has climbed to #8 in Canada, #22 on Soul Tracks Playlist, and that love from across the world and in the US means everything to me. Each time someone presses play, it’s like we’re sharing a moment together, even if we’re miles apart.

For me, this single is only the beginning. I’ll be performing it live at upcoming shows, blending it into the fabric of my Blues, Jazz, and Gospel roots, and I can’t wait to see how it continues to grow.
