A few weeks ago, I shared with you that my book signing at The Analog Dope Store here in Las Vegas would be rescheduled for September.

Sadly, that signing will no longer be happening.

Today, something simply prompted me to go to the bookstore’s website. I hadn’t heard back regarding the September date, and I thought, Let me check the website and give them a call.

I’m so glad I followed that instinct.

That’s when I learned that on August 18th, a devastating fire affected The Analog Dope Store and its Arts District community.

My heart immediately went out to everyone affected. ❤️

Suddenly, whether or not I would be having a book signing didn’t matter. People have lost businesses, creative spaces, livelihoods and places into which they have poured their hearts.

Those of you who know me know how much I believe in community and in supporting independent artists, small businesses and the people who create spaces where books, music, art and culture can live.

So instead of simply announcing that my September book signing has been canceled, I’d like to use my little corner of the world to send some love in their direction.

The community is already coming together, with a fundraiser planned for September 3rd, and The Analog Dope Store has established a fire-relief fund.

Follow the nudge.

Sometimes you don’t know why something tells you to make the call, check the website, send the message or look a little deeper.

You don’t always need to know why.

Sometimes you just need to listen.
