Every Story Finds a Home- “You never know who’s sitting in front of you.”

On July 8th, I attended a Mary Kay skincare gathering hosted by one of my Honey Bees.  It was my first time ever visiting her home, and I was simply looking forward to an evening of laughter, connection, and getting to know some wonderful women.

“What made the evening even more special is that Mary Kay has a place in my own story. Before I stepped into my professional music career, I was a Mary Kay representative in my early thirties. I believed in the products, but even more importantly, I believed in supporting people who support me. So when my Honey Bee invited me, I was happy to be there.”

“Little did I know that I wasn’t just walking into a skincare gathering. I was walking into a moment where my past and present would meet.”

As the evening unfolded, the conversation naturally turned to what we each do. I shared that I am an entertainer and my cousin reminded me that I was also a newly published author.

We laughed, we talked, and then one of the ladies said something that stayed with me:

“Wow, you never know who’s sitting in front of you.”

That sentence perfectly captured the evening.

Later, I stepped away to use the ladies’ room.  As I walked down the hallway, something caught my eye.

There, hanging on the wall, was a beautiful Van Gogh Exhibition Poster…and right beside it was a photograph of me.

I stopped.

I smiled.

I was completely surprised.

Last September, I released a limited edition collection of photographs, and I had completely forgotten that my host had purchased one. Seeing it displayed so beautifully in her home was a moment I never expected.

It felt like a little reminder from the universe: the seeds we plant often grow in places we don’t even know about.

When I shared what I had discovered, the other women gathered around to see it.

They weren’t just sitting with an entertainer or a published author. They were sitting with a woman who had spent years creating, dreaming, performing, writing, and sharing pieces of her heart with the world.

They scanned my new QR code, and before the night was over, one of the ladies had joined my Honeycomb Hideout on Substack.

It reminded me that connection doesn’t always happen because we plan it. Sometimes it happens because we show up, share our stories, and allow people to discover who we are.

🍯 Honey to Take With You

You never know what someone carries inside of them, and you never know where your own gifts may have landed.  Keep creating. Keep sharing. Your story may already be touching someone’s life—even before you know it.  Sometimes the greatest surprises aren’t the ones we create—they’re the ones waiting quietly for us to discover.  🐝💛 Hugs

P.S. 😄

Yes Darling…I really did join in on the fun!

Sometimes the best networking happens with a skincare mask on, lots of laughter, and no expectation of what the evening might bring. I arrived to support a Honey Bee, enjoyed pampering myself, made some wonderful new connections, and left with a beautiful reminder that you truly never know who you’ll meet—or who already knows your story.

“Proof that even The Panther of Cremona, Italy enjoys a little self-care! 🐝💚 Sometimes the sweetest opportunities come while you’re simply relaxing and having fun.”

P.S.S. 😮 While getting ready to publish this story on July 9th, I accidentally deleted my entire blog. My heart sank. Then, thanks to the wonderful Bandzoogle support team, all 224 blog memories were restored. It reminded me once again that sometimes what we think is lost is simply waiting to be found.
