Yes, you have read the headline correctly, and on Thursday, June 9, 2022, I WAS HACKED!
The moment it happens, you literally feel like you want to start crying, screaming, and kicking yourself in the butt. A million other thoughts run through your head and you start thinking about all of the extra steps you should have taken to be sure that you were absolutely communicating with your friend.
What threw me off guard is that when I did go to my friend's page to check and see if he in fact had a clothing line...he did have a clothing line with many photos posted of himself and other friends wearing his t-shirts, so I thought his account was legit.
So, the way it works is that once the hackers contact you with the message on IG, they have already hacked your friend's account and taken over their page. The moment you click on the link that they send you via text to your phone, (remember your phone number is on your IG account) it gives them direct access to your IG account and they immediately change your phone number and email address on your IG account. Once this happens you no longer are able to get back into the account and you no longer own it, they also turn on 2-way verification which is sent to them.
So, be sure to go to any IG accounts (habakamusic, habakakfj, habakashoneybees, honeybeevibrant) that you follow me on, and block and report those pages. I have tried to warn everyone imaginable by phone, text, email, posting on FB etcetera and now I'm writing a blog about it to make people aware. In my lifetime I've learned to stay calm so that I can remain focused on the challenge at hand. I'm excited because now I know that I'm growing to another level, and the old me can no longer tolerate the new me. Lol Hugs
