🍯 HONEY NOTE NO. 1

You Have Permission to Discontinue the Old You

Honey Bee Reflection

Sometimes becoming the best version of yourself requires discontinuing an old version of yourself.

I can truly say that lately I have been reconstructing myself. And I love this because my reconstruction is intentional. I’m not demolishing the whole house. 😂 I’m keeping the foundation, preserving what is valuable, removing what no longer serves the structure, and building something that better accommodates the person I am now.

This part still fits. This part doesn’t. This part of me has been waiting to come forward. (it was a little painful at first, but stepping out of your comfort zone is never easy)

And to be completely honest with you, I have a type of character where I am always evolving. And I believe that’s mainly due to the fact that I’m a creative!! And you know as they say being a creative our brains are wired just a little bit differently. 😂😂😂

Evolution doesn’t always announce itself. Sometimes you simply wake up and realize that the version of you that got you here is not necessarily the version of you that will carry you there. And perhaps you were triggered into waking up a different person overnight. (well you know they always say that it’s overnight but anything that’s major that comes to fruition. It did not happen overnight. It happened over time but
by the time it actually takes form and or explodes
it catapults you into your marvelous self, it seems like it was over overnight, but it wasn’t.)

So you can Keep the wisdom. Keep the lessons. Keep the character. But give yourself permission to discontinue the habits, expectations, fears, relationships, routines—or even dreams—that belonged to an earlier version of you. Because maybe what you thought you wanted then when you go through this transformation you find out maybe it’s not what I want after all or maybe you’ve arrived to the place that you wanted so long and then now that you’re there you find out that you really don’t want it. And it’s OK you don’t have to beat yourself up about it, but what you do have to do is lean into the growing pains of all of it.

Becoming your best self isn’t about rejecting who you were. It’s about choosing who you will be today that will make you the best version of yourself one day at a time. And recognizing who you’ve become.

Me stepping back these last few months has allowed me to breathe and take a deeper look into what I really want at this time of my life. I think that’s what makes life so interesting is that we can change our perspective, our direction and pursue an entire entirely new direction. Because I am certain that you are not who you were when you were in your 20s.

So Honey Bee, I’m here to tell you that you have permission to discontinue the old
because the new YOU is waiting and ready. 🍯

Hugs,
Habaka 🐝
