NATIONAL POETRY MONTH

Thanks to well-known Recording Artist+Author Jennifer Grassman, while reading her BLOG post I discovered that the month of APRIL is National Poetry Month and it just so happens that I know a couple of people very close to me and my heart that are aspiring Poets & Writers'.  Thanks Jennifer!

So let me introduce you to my cousin...

Just a few short day's ago

      Lyriccs Melody Collins-Fret
was chosen to write for Sound Off Woman Magazine! She will be writing 3 poems a month one on their website and the other 2 in the magazine, she is now a Published Poet! I must admit I am so proud of her and just over whelmed, because sometimes people only need for you to believe in them and give them that little encouragement that they can do what their dreaming, and that they have what it takes by the grace of GOD!

HERE'S ONE OF HER POEMS!:

Written for my mom, Sharon Collins, tribute to all hard working moms "Heroin(e)" My mom would come home way before the sunrise; before the possessed first shift traffic piled up behind the bus lines. Every morning with blood stained eyes, a weary angelic smile shone upon my brother an i; she was up all night while safely in our bed we faced dark skies, she would tickle us till awake, som...etimes till we cried . But what I didn't know then, my mothers blood was full of heroin. I learned pretty Soon none the less as you could assume. The evidence of heroin shone through her in the darkest of gloom. That's when I fell in love an knew I wanted it too. I decided right then no matter what, heroin is what imma do. So I followed in my mothers foot steps but my feet where too small for her shoes, I had to obtain this addiction an make sure it's one I never lose.. i began to see examples of women like my mom surrounding me with their heroin fueled beliefs, to be honest it felt good to see more women like her it gave my soul some relief. Now as an adult I still strive for the same to be just like my momma an continue our family name the only difference in my thinking from now an then is I learned the heroin my mother promoted has an e at the end.

Love ya Hugs your cousin Habaka

please feel free to leave comments or even add any other poets you may know that you'd like to give a shout out to!!! National Poetry Month courtesy of www.smallworldathome.com coming up next will be Arnal Kennedy!!!!

Another person dear to me that is not only a friend but like a brother to me and he's also an aspiring writer & poet so I wanted to dedicate a Big congratulations to him for his writings as well.

Now Arnal and I go back to when we were children!!! and we played together, ate hot dogs, cotton candy, french fries, and all that good stuff that kids do together (so you get the picture now) so to know him all of this time and to know his life story as well, well it brings tears to my eyes because he has a story just as many of us do, but you see there were many years that passed when I didn't know where Arnal was, we lost contact and then so many reports would come to me that know one even in the family knew where he was and so you can imagine just how I felt. But you'll get to know his story when you visit his page, all I know is that God really does answer prayer and I'm so proud of Arnal to see him back with us and of his accomplishments as an inspiring poet. So once again Arnal congratulations' and keep up the good work.

Find out more about Arnal Kennedy by clicking on the photo's below of his works: Your comments are always welcome and feel free to share with your friends.
